Once you've narrowed down the choices, then think about your budget. Synthetic material costs less than wool. Machine-made is not as expensive as hand-knotted or hand-woven.

Light colors, simple patterns, and loose (less ornate) designs can make a room feel more spacious.

Deeper, dark colors and dense patterns bring warmth and coziness to a room.
